Areas of Practice

Operations planning

We will assist you to become proficient in deliberate and contingency planning.  You will learn to initiate planning cycles effectively, orient your staff to the specific problem parameters, develop valid courses of action, turn the optimal course into a realistic plan, and to adapt the plan to unforeseen circumstances.

risk mitigation

Demystifying risks starts with using common language in describing them, and in using proven tools to prioritize their resolution.  It requires finesse, strategic structuring, and in many ways, empathy. At the end of the day, risk mitigation is essential to preparing your organization to respond to failure and to recover from losses.

The purpose of intelligence is to reduce uncertainty in circumstances of conflict and turmoil. We will assist you to apply proven structured analytic techniques in identifying the factors that must drive your decisions.

BUSINESS continuity planning(BCP)

Emergency response is paramount to saving your organization's immediate function in the first few days post-disaster to weeks, but so is deeper planning that looks out months to years ahead.   We will assist you in identifying core functions that you must replicate, remote, or replace to recover from a disaster.

The world can be a scary place.  People, facilities, and data require protection from both external and internal threats.  People can be influenced with money, ideology, coercion or compromise, and by ego or excitement to attack their organization - or their co-workers.  The internet, software, and technology are so pervasive that we can’t remember having ever lived without them. They make our lives simpler, but behind the curtain are fluctuating challenges in protection and monetization —challenges that our firm stays two steps ahead of.

emergency management

Bad things, like floods, fires, hurricanes, and tornados happen to good people.  We will teach you how to survive the initial emergency to implement your business continuity plan.

Ninety percent of intelligence comes from open sources. The other ten percent, the clandestine work, is just more dramatic. The real intelligence hero is Sherlock Holmes, not James Bond.
— Lieutenant General Samuel V. Wilson, (U.S. Army Retired), Former Director Defense Intelligence Agency, as quoted in "Parameters," 1998
